it was a quiet weekend in our cozy apartment…with the exception of some rare (however short-lived) snowfall here in savannah, olympic fever magic, and lots of paper hearts. we didn’t do anything outrageous to celebrate valentine’s day and it was fabulous. we slept in and then opened valentines over a relaxed breakfast.
the only other excitement warranting explanation here was the magic and insane yumminess of our dinner. thank you, ina for your heavenly tagliarelle with truffle butter . simple yet A.MAZ.ING. with some simply roasted asparagus and a spinach salad dressed with a fig infused white balsamic vinaigrette? yes, please. we splurged on the cipriani tagliarelle that ina suggests and it was beyond words.
as if that was not enough i also baked some incredible oatmeal/coconut/chocolate chip cookies loosely adapted from the gourmet today anthology. that cookbook has yielded an insane amount of successful and delicious recipes. love. we finished our celebration watching the men’s moguls. perfection.
